On 28 July 2020, in the premises of Security Academy, was organized a workshop with the Lecturers of the Police College of the Security Academy, as well as with the some managerial staff of the Police College.
The workshop was developed with the primary object of enhancing the community policing curricula with appropriate module and sub-modules, as well as the development of the training manual.
The development of this workshop had 2 main reasons: a) to improve the curricula especially of the general patrol related to CP, and b) to inform about the training of 650 CPOs and the issues related to them -presented in a specific report.
Participants in the workshop were informed on contemporary teaching methods as well as they had the opportunity to discuss on a standard training manual model.
In the second part of the workshop, the program experts presented a lecture sample and then moved on to group work and discussions.
Participants were very active in discussions and gave their own opinion on the topic like surveys and controlled oriented police service versus service oriented policing, etc.
In the final stage, the work focused on selecting the module and sub-module of community policing in order to enhance and improve the existing teaching curriculum.
In general, all the participants in the workshop unanimously concluded that there is a need to keept the curricula updated and improved.
