In addition to the numerous monitoring visits to the southern LPDs as well as to the basic training for the Public Safety Specialists and the staff of the Command-and-Control Rooms, the SCPA experts’ team organized a training workshop for Train the Trainers (ToT) for the staff of the Command-and-Control Room (CCR) and General Patrol Officers (PPOs). The workshop took place on the premises of the Faculty of Security and Investigation on June 21-22, 2022.
The purpose of this training was to qualify a consolidated group of ToTs in order that they are able to provide joint training for CCRs and PPOs staff so that the latter are familiar with the changes recently implemented, as well as understand their functional tasks and apply the knowledge gained in their daily work.
Based on the gaps identified during the trainings of public order specialists, frequent discussions with the stakeholders and observations during the monitoring visits, the program experts have developed a training module. This module focuses on community policing for all the police officers that deliver their service within the police zones, increased cooperation in the police zones and a better understanding of their new tasks stemming from the new job descriptions.
After numerous discussions with the Academy of Security and the Directorate of Public Order at the ASP HQ on the modalities for the implementation of this training, decision was taken to run a 2-days training session of a ToTs with main objective that this training be rolled out by the Academy in the future. Through this training, the SCPA program achieves in practice one of its principles: the transfer of ownership of the achievements to the beneficiary.
