During the implementation of the awareness program in the secondary schools, there was noticed a great interest of the pupils and the school staff on these topics. There was also a positive will from the involved institutions to extend this program to the high schools. Therefore, the SCPA engaged in meetings with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Interior and the State Police to organise the training of security officers and psychologists of Albanian high schools.
The training started at the Academy of Security and Safety in Tirana, with 2 training groups that were followed by 2 other groups in Elbasan and Durrës with a total of 77 security officers.
During the first week of March, 31 OS and psychologists from Shkodra, Lezha, Kukes and Dibra were trained in Lezha, divided into 2 groups. After a break due to Covid-19, on June 22, the training of a number of 55 security officers and psychologists of schools in the districts of Fier, Vlora and Gjirokastra and Korca resumed.
At the end of the training, to all the participants were sent literature and supporting materials as well as presentations and videos produced to be used in meetings with young people for the school year 2020-2021 and onwards. Participants also embraced the idea of creating an online forum, similar to the CPO Educators forum for educating and working with young people, in order to use this virtual instrument for mutual experience exchanges.
By expressing the gratitude for their commitment to the involved institutions the Ministry of Education and Sports, Ministry of Interior and Albanian State Police MoI, the SCPA program is optimistic that together we can achieve the best possible results to raise awareness for young people, in order to increase public safety in the community, with the start of the new school year.
