On 05.12.2022, in the frame of 16 days of Activism against Gender Based Violence, the NGO “Une, Gruaja” organized an awareness raising event with the students of the high school “Muharrem Çollaku” in Pogradec under the moto “Engage to End Violence against Women and Girls”. There participated students, teachers, the social worker and the school psychologist, the DV coordinator of Pogradec municipality, Child Protection Officer, Community Policing Officer of Pogradec commissariat. The discussions were mainly focused in gender based violence, how it happens, which are the factors and forms of violence and the role played by each of us to minimize the effects and prevent such cases in all settings such as schools, streets etc.

The participants were very active and shared cases they had heard from the media and cases occurred in their city. In such context, it was discussed the role of the police where the citizens should report the cases and the importance of cooperation between police-community to prevent violence. At the end, awareness materials were distributed such as flyers, bracelets and badges containing messages against violence and the police phone number to call in case of need.
